To not give forgiveness, creates barriers to change within ourselves. Nothing good can happen without this change within ourselves. It binds us with chains that we can not break free of. In essence, we are self- imposing limitations for growth due to choice.
I see many things influencing our ability to forgive: Ego from the initial propogator, taking an opposing impulse and how we feel doing it, we wonder if it will do any good. Another of my focal points is the concept of limitation put upon us, until we take out the garbage, and feel clean again.
In our current times, forgiveness has become much harder to apply. But we don't do it for the propogator… we do it for ourselves. We can not succumb to the intention they try to give us. An unattended wound, will only fester, and create limitation.
And I feel we agree, that we are the masters and creators ( after/under God ) of our own world.
I had this all typed out, in chosen words. But, I refuse limitation's intention. Then, bc my right arm is in a splint, I hit the wrong key, and my comment disappeared. This is my spiritual butt-kick to its intention. I'm going to retype it from memory here:
When I used the word ‘limitation’ above, my intention was to affirm that not one of us are perfect. In any fight of mind, body and soul, the intention is like an mending a wound. Mental ‘ Aloe ‘ that cleanses and repairs. This equals progress.
Those who choose to use our limitations against us, will find its target moved and now behind the shield of forgiveness. They've lost their purpose.
